This version uses the Arnold core, and it includes the Arnold GPU. See the Release Notes.

Autodesk Network Licensing in Arnold 6 requires new license files with an updated 2020 version. Please follow the instructions on this page to generate your license file. More info about Arnold 6 licensing can be found here.



  • Camera aperture size based on f-number: New option is added to the Arnold tag to calculate aperture size for depth of field effect based on a specified f-number or the settings of the C4D camera. (#1621)
  • Change color space in the Tx Manager: Color space of image shaders can now be updated via the context menu in the Tx Manager. (#1622)
  • Added option to render hair via the Hair Render effect: New option is added to the Advanced group of the Arnold tag to read hair guides from the Hair Render effect. This can be useful in some special cases (like hair growth along a spline) where the default hair generation algorithm fails. Note that motion blur is not supported via the Hair Render effect. (#1620)
  • Reference objects in the shader network editor: Objects can now be drag & dropped to the network editor to connect their parameters to a shader input (e.g. drive a switch shader via the global position of a Null object). (#1624)
