C4DtoA 3.3.4 uses Arnold and is a minor release bringing support for Cinema 4D S24. At the same time support for Cinema 4D R20 is dropped.


System Requirements

  • Cinema 4D
    • R21.026 and above
    • S22.016 and above
    • R23.008 and above
    • S24.035 and above
  • X-Particles
    • xpTrail and Explosia FX support requires minimum X-Particles 4.0 build 895

  • Windows 10 or later, with the Visual Studio 2019 redistributable.
  • Linux with at least glibc 2.17 and libstdc++ 4.8.5 (gcc 4.8.5). This is equivalent to RHEL/CentOS 7.
  • macOS 10.13 to 10.15. Note that macOS 11 Big Sur is not certified.
  • CPUs need to support the SSE4.1 instruction set.
  • GPU rendering works on Windows and Linux only and requires an NVIDIA GPU of the Ampere, Turing, Volta, Pascal, or Maxwell architecture. We recommend using the 460.39 or higher drivers on Linux and 461.40 (Quadro), 461.40 (GeForce), or higher on Windows. See Getting Started with Arnold GPU for more information.
  • Optix™ denoiser requires an NVidia GPU with CUDA™ Compute Capability 5.0 and above.


  • Support for Cinema 4D S24: Builds for Cinema 4D S24.035 are now available. (c4dtoa#2347)

Bug Fixes

  • [c4dtoa#2353] X-Particles vertex map on Sweep Object is not rendering
  • [c4dtoa#2361] Fracture instance does not render properly

Textures stored in the new S24 Asset Browser is not supported yet, because of a limitation in the C4D SDK. Therefore porting material libraries from the Content Browser to the new Asset Browser is not recommended.
