C4DtoA 3.3.5 introduces Arnold 220.127.116.11 and is a performance release bringing important optimizations on GPU, toon shading, and imagers.
Cinema 4D S24 related issues:
- Textures stored in the new S24 Asset Browser are not supported yet, because of a limitation in the C4D SDK. Therefore porting material libraries from the Content Browser to the new Asset Browser is not recommended.
- Drag & drop nodes to the node editor does not work in S24, such as:
- Drag & drop an Arnold Material to create a reference.
- Drag & drop an object to create an object reference.
- Drag & drop a Vertex Map to create a Vertex Map shader.
- Ctrl + drag a shader in the node editor in S24 creates two copies instead of one. shift + drag and Shift + Alt + drag does not work.

- Add and remove imagers in IPR: Adding and removing imagers in the IPR does not trigger a re-render after the render has been finished, except for imagers which requires additional AOVs (e.g. light_mixer, denoisers). (c4dtoa#2261)
- Add light mixer to the top of the imager list: When a light mixer imager is created, it is now added to the top of the imager list by default. (c4dtoa#2343)
- Warnings and errors in the IPR status bar: Now an icon indicates in the status bar if there are any render warnings or errors detected during an IPR session. Warning and error messages are visible in the console log. (c4dtoa#2319)
- Collect render context data for analytics: Information of the render context is now collected in case Autodesk Desktop Analytics (ADP) is enabled. (c4dtoa#2313)
By default, Arnold licenses are now checked out using the host computer name. In previous Arnold versions, licenses were checked out with the name arnold.user This means that Arnold 18.104.22.168 and an older Arnold, like 22.214.171.124, won't share a license if you render with both versions on the same time on the same machine. To make Arnold 6.2.1 share a license with an older Arnold, set the environment variable ARNOLD_LICENSE_CLM_USERNAME to arnold.user ARNOLD_LICENSE_CLM_USERNAME supports the tokens <username> and <hostname>, so with Arnold 6.2.1 and later you can customize the name used to check out the license. It could be just <username>, which would expand to to something like "blairs" Or it could be something like arnold.<username>.<hostname>, which would expand to something like "arnold.blairs.NOVMJ07M9WM"
