With Arnold and Solaris it is possible to create Material Library nodes that are translated into USD materials. To create a USD material you must first:

  • Create a Material Library LOP node. This is used to translate the Material Library nodes into USD materials. Stage -> Materials -> Material Library.



  • Inside the Material Library node, create an Arnold Material Builder node. This automatically creates an Arnold Material Builder node. 


  • Specify a geometry for each Material VOP and its path in the parameters of the Material Library VOP node
